Account and data controls

Delete your Family Wallet account and data

This page explains the in-app cleanup control, how to request complete account deletion, what is deleted or retained, and the separate steps for subscriptions and Google Drive backups.

Complete deletion request

Email us from your account address

Send an email with the subject Family Wallet Account Deletion from the email address connected to your Family Wallet account. Include your Family Wallet account email and, if available, your user ID. Do not include financial records, passwords, payment-card details, or identity documents unless we specifically request a limited verification item.

Request account deletion

We may ask you to confirm ownership. Verified requests are normally completed within 30 days. We will confirm when the request has been processed or explain any lawful retention exception.

In the app

Erase your profiles first

  1. Open Family Wallet and go to the Library/account area.
  2. Select Erase All Profiles.
  3. Review the warning, type the requested confirmation, and complete the action.
  4. Then send the complete deletion request above so we can remove the Firebase Authentication identity and any remaining account record.

"Erase All Profiles" permanently deletes profiles you own and their synchronized household records, and removes you from profiles shared with you. It does not delete your Family Wallet authentication identity, cancel subscriptions, or delete Google Drive backups. Follow the complete account-deletion instructions for the remaining deletion steps.

Important: "Delete Household," "Delete Profile," signing out, clearing app data, or uninstalling the app alone does not guarantee complete account deletion.
What is deleted

Data covered by a complete request

  • Your Family Wallet authentication account and active account profile.
  • Your membership and role references in Family Wallet households.
  • Cloud records for households you solely own, subject to verification and lawful retention requirements.
  • Personal settings, sync metadata, and active subscription-entitlement references maintained directly by Family Wallet.
  • Support data that is not needed to complete or document the deletion request.

If a household remains in use by other members, shared financial entries may need to remain as household records. We will remove your membership and personal identifiers where reasonably possible, or retain limited/de-identified records when necessary to preserve other members' records, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, or comply with law.

Your device

Delete local app data

Family Wallet stores financial records locally on your device. After completing any export you need, use the in-app deletion controls, clear Family Wallet's app data in device settings where available, and uninstall the app. We cannot remotely erase copies stored only on a device that is offline or no longer connected to your account.

Google Drive

Delete or disconnect private Drive backups

Family Wallet backups are stored in the hidden application-data folder associated with your Google Account. Family Wallet normally keeps a rolling maximum of seven backups.

  1. While Family Wallet still has Drive permission, use its backup-management controls to delete available backups where that option is provided.
  2. Open Google Drive settings and review Manage apps to remove hidden app data for Family Wallet where Google offers that control.
  3. Open Google Account third-party access and revoke Family Wallet's Drive access.
Revoking permission prevents future access but may not by itself delete backup files already stored in the app-data folder. Delete hidden app data before or while managing access when possible.
Subscriptions

Cancel billing separately

Deleting your Family Wallet account or uninstalling the app does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription.

Apple, Google, and RevenueCat may retain purchase and transaction records according to their policies and legal obligations. Refund requests are handled under the applicable store's policies.

Limited retention

Information that may remain temporarily

We may retain deletion-request correspondence and a minimal completion record for up to three years to demonstrate compliance, prevent abuse, and resolve disputes. Information may also remain for a limited period in provider backups or be retained where required by law, accounting rules, fraud prevention, security, or the rights of other household members.

Aggregated or de-identified analytics that can no longer reasonably identify you may remain. Service providers, app stores, and Google Drive apply their own retention policies to data they control.
